Violinist and vocalist Tijana Stanković (1984), works mostly in the domain of world music and free improvisation.
She studied ethnomusicology in Novi Sad. Her fields of interest are folk music from the Balkans, free improvisation and contemporary music, world and applied music.
Tijana Stanković started her professional career in the Paniks ensemble from Subotica in 2003. She collaborated with many recognized musicians and composers (Mezei Szilard, Iancu Dumitrecu, Ana Maria Avram, Márkos Albert, Lenhart Tapes and others), as well as in work on theater and film music.
Active projects include three duos: with composer and saxophonist Miroslav Tóth from Slovakia, Ana Kravanja from Slovenia and Sofia Labropoulou from Greece.
As a member of an ensemble or as part of a solo project, she performed at festivals in France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Slovenia, Serbia…
The last solo album “Freezer” was released for the Slovak record company LOM in 2020.
