The Karusel Festival of ambient and ethno music will take place in Čačak from 27 July to 11 August. The 18th edition of the festival, held under the slogan “Strah i nada” (Fear and Hope), will feature 11 concerts by local and international artists across four evenings, along with a music workshop and a photography exhibition.

The concert programme of the 18th Karusel Festival will take place in the Main Hall of the Cultural Centre Čačak, from 8 pm to midnight.

The festival will open on 27 July with performances by Čačak-based group Mixed Up, Niš-based band Eyot, and Belgrade ensemble The Cyclist Conspiracy.

On the second festival day, 28 July, the audience will have the opportunity to hear the premiere programme “Fish in Oil – Soundscapes” by the Belgrade-based group Fish in Oil, the “Žega” project by Igor Božanić from Ljubljana, as well as a performance by the Russian ensemble Spiritual Seasons.

The programme continues on 3 August with concerts by Maja Alvanović from Novi Sad, Hungarian ensemble Dunyha, and Belgrade band Zašto Kafka?.

The final concert evening will be held on 4 August, beginning with the promotion of the book “Ako volite bluz” (If You Like Blues) by Vladislav Pejak. This will be followed by performances by Belgrade ensembles Triple Ace, featuring Mr. Swagger, Pera Joe and Duda Bezuha, and Ice Cream Man.

“Countdown has begun to the start of the 18th edition of the Karusel Festival. People often ask why someone would spend four evenings indoors during hot summer days, in the Main Hall of the Cultural Centre Čačak. The answer is simple – because our programme is not a copy of similar events and already familiar stories. It offers something new and different, a unique musical experience”, says Dušan Darijević, founder and artistic director of the festival.

In addition to the concert programme, the festival will also include the two-day music workshop “Sound Lab – Basics of Sound Design”, which will be held on 6 and 7 August in the Main Hall of the City Library “Vladislav Petković Dis”, from 7 to 8:30 pm. The workshop will be led by library advisor Dr Mirko Drmanac.

The festival will close on 11 August with the opening of the photography exhibition “Karusel 2026” by Duško Luković, which will be presented in the middle hall of the Cultural Centre Čačak from 8 pm.

Admission to all festival programmes is free, with the possibility of voluntary personal donations to support festival activities.
