On June 16 and 17, 2026, the courtyard of the Sukat Shalom Synagogue in Belgrade will host two concerts by the ensemble Shira U’Tfila under the joint title Song and Prayer, inspired by the rich heritage of Jewish musical traditions from the Balkans, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East.
The first concert, Spiritual Songs, will take place on June 16 at 8:00 PM and will feature a repertoire of piyyutim – spiritual and religious songs that have held an important place for centuries within various Jewish traditions of the Mediterranean, the Balkans, and the Orient.
A day later, on June 17 at 8:00 PM, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy the program Sephardic Love Songs, presenting some of the most beautiful Sephardic love songs performed by Branislava Podrumac.
The special guest at both concerts will be Elad Gabay, an artist from Jerusalem, singer, poet, oud and qanun player, professor of Oriental music, and founder of the Hibah ensemble. His appearance offers a rare opportunity for local audiences to experience contemporary interpretations of traditional Middle Eastern music.
The performers will include Stefan Sablić (vocals, oud), Branislava Podrumac (vocals), Elad Gabay (vocals, qanun), Aleksandar Jovanović Šljuka (piano), Filip Krumes (violin), Sinan Aćifović (clarinet), Srđan Đorđević (bass), as well as Aleksandar Radojičić and Andreja Krstić (percussion).
Both concerts begin at 8:00 PM in the courtyard of the Sukat Shalom Synagogue in Belgrade.
Tickets are priced at 1,000 RSD and are valid for both concerts. Reservations can be made via email at info@jkc.rs, while tickets are also available through Tickets.rs and at their authorized sales outlets.
