From 3 to 5 July, more than 80 performers from eight countries will take part in the “Novi Sad Jazz Festival”, ranging from internationally acclaimed artists to emerging young talents. The programme will also feature a variety of accompanying events designed to enrich the overall jazz experience, including a special tribute marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of jazz legend Miles Davis.

Under the slogan LAGÁNO (“Take It Easy”), the Novi Sad Jazz Festival returns this year with a new concept, celebrating outstanding jazz culture while embracing the authentic rhythm of life in Novi Sad. As it approaches its 30th anniversary, the festival moves beyond traditional concert formats, transforming the very heart of the city into a unique jazz experience for more than 35 hours.

Among the headline artists of this year's edition are Avishai Cohen, recipient of the award bearing Miles Davis's name and one of the leading jazz stars of today; Joe Lovano, Grammy Award winner; Antonio Faraò, winner of the prestigious Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Competition; and renowned Italian pianist, singer and composer Francesca Tandoi. They will perform at the Summer Cinema of the Cultural Centre of Novi Sad.

The stage in Catholic Port will host Milena Casado, one of the most prominent names on the contemporary international jazz scene; Emma Smith, recipient of the prestigious Parliamentary Jazz Award; and one of Europe's leading jazz drummers, Vladimir Kostadinović, performing with his quartet.

Also appearing will be the regionally acclaimed young-generation ensemble QuadBones, instrumental group Deep Steady, the original jazz project Bojan Cvetković Quartet, and Jazzysad, one of the pioneers of blending electronic and jazz music in the Balkans.

The festival programme will also extend into the iconic city-centre streets of Njegoševa Street and Laze Telečkog Street, where audiences will be able to enjoy performances by well-known local and regional acts, including Bullet for a Badman, Funk Shui, Foltin, White City Soul, DJ Katalina, Boris Hložan, Afro Gitano, Anđela Koruga Quartet, Tanja Senić Quartet, and many others.

Tickets for the concerts at the Summer Cinema go on sale on 8 June, at promotional prices, through Gigstix sales outlets and online. Admission to all other Novi Sad Jazz Festival programmes is free of charge.

The festival's new concept is the result of a collaboration between the Cultural Centre of Novi Sad and the Novi Sad – European Capital of Culture Foundation, with the support of the Tourist Organisation of Novi Sad.
