Studio6 is a collective of performing musicians, composers and researchers, devoted to promotion of today’s music, based in Serbia.
Apart from its main activity, which is planning and coordinating its instrumental ensemble, Collective Studio6 engages in international projects, educational programmes, discussion panels and regional network building, with an aim to build up and nurture a vital and unique contemporary music scene in the Balkans.
Artistic director of the ensemble is harpist Milana Zarić. Modular Ensemble Studio6 includes Baroque flutes, trumpet, harp, accordion, cello, percussion, electronics, and gathers internationally acclaimed performers of composed and improvised music.
Major exponents of “new Serbian avant-garde music scene”, as described by the media, the ensemble has, since its inception in 2012, worked with leading European composers, creative musicians and artists.
The ensemble has brought many original programmes and premieres to audiences in Serbia, Croatia, Switzerland, UK and France. Studio6 regularly commissions pieces by forefront Serbian and European composers, and collaborates with improvisers and sound artists often as co-performers.
Members of the Ensemble Studio6 are also involved in symphony orchestras, higher education, baroque consorts and management of contemporary music events in Serbia and abroad.
