Belgrade alternative rock band E-play will perform on Friday, March 14, at 9 PM at the Livnica Club in Niš, as part of a promotional event leading up to the music festival “Nisomnia”, organized by the Niš Cultural Center.
The concert is part of the promotion of the band’s new, sixth studio album “Diši duboko” (Breathe Deeply), recently presented at the RTS Club and performed live in Studio 6 of Radio Belgrade. The album features seven new original songs, with music and lyrics mostly written by the band’s frontwoman Maja Cvetković, while the lyrics for the song “Hotel Jugoslavija” were co-written with Momčilo Bajagić Bajaga.
To mark the album’s release, a special RTS program was broadcast, dedicated to presenting E-play’s new release. Guests discussing the band, new songs, and E-play’s place in the regional rock scene included Prof. Zorica Tomić, music journalist and rock critic Petar Janjatović, RTS music editor and show creator Branka Glavonjić (Bunt), “Exit” festival co-founder Miloš Ignjatović, music producer Dejan Lalić, and the band members themselves.
Speaking about the band’s energy and frontwoman Maja Cvetković, drummer Goran Ljuboja Trut described her as a “black female samurai with a bass guitar”, highlighting her powerful presence, vocals, and energy as one of the band’s trademarks, concluding: “She’s a born star”.
E-play is coming to Niš following a recent concert in Prague and a sold-out show in Subotica. The promotional concert series will continue with performances in Novi Sad on April 3 and Pančevo on April 17.
The Niš audience will have the opportunity to hear new songs from “Diši duboko”, as well as classic tracks that have marked E-play’s long-standing career.
The concert at Livnica serves as an introduction to this year’s “Nisomnia” festival, organized by the Niš Cultural Center.
Tickets for the E-play concert are available in Indigo and NKC bookstores for 1,000 dinars.
