Sevdah, as a music of profound emotional expression, returns once again to the Belgrade audience. The Sarajevo-based ensemble Divanhana, one of the most prominent contemporary interpreters of this musical heritage, will perform on May 16, 2026, at MTS Hall in Belgrade, presenting their new album “Radio Sevdah.” Following a powerful and emotional concert held in June 2023, the band returns to the same stage with new songs and a continuation of the artistic journey they have been building with audiences around the world for years.

In Divanhana’s music, sevdah lives through irresistible interpretations shaped by attentive listening to tradition and a deep understanding of its essence – love in its countless forms: longing, belonging, separation, suffering, devotion, betrayal, passion, amusement… For this very reason, Divanhana’s music sounds intimate and contemporary, reminding us that tradition lives only as long as it is continually performed, heard, and reimagined.
Divanhana’s sixth studio release, “Radio Sevdah,” was published in October 2025 for both the domestic market (Multimedia Music) and the international market (Germany’s CPL-Music). The album offers deeply crafted, lush, moving, and vibrant arrangements, a powerful vocal and instrumental expression, and a significant number of original songs in the spirit of tradition, opening space for intimacy and joy.
The album title suggests a multi-layered homage – to radio as a medium, to the historic role of Radio Sarajevo, and to sevdalinka itself, the beloved genre whose influence long ago transcended the borders of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“It is a rounded whole, woven through with a network of threads, all in celebration of love (for sevdah is love) – universal and personal, love for the other and for one’s own: land, people, tradition, music, radio…” writes Marija Vitas, music critic and ethnomusicologist, about Divanhana’s new album.
Divanhana’s latest music video from the new album, for the song “Voljelo se dvoje mladih,” was released on February 8 on the band’s YouTube channel, following earlier videos for “Domovina” and “Rijekama.” The song and video for “Voljelo se dvoje mladih” were recorded in Ljubljana in collaboration with Vlado Kreslin, the renowned Slovenian singer-songwriter and one of the album’s guest artists.
“Radio Sevdah highlights Divanhana’s role as one of the most compelling Bosnian bands, reflecting on the rich sevdah tradition while simultaneously leading it into new and unpredictable directions,” writes British journalist and music critic Simon Broughton.
Divanhana’s concerts are known for their atmosphere of intimacy and warmth, and the performance at MTS Hall will offer the Belgrade audience the opportunity to hear the new repertoire live for the first time, as well as to reconnect with songs that have marked the band’s journey so far.
“With great excitement, we are returning to Belgrade, where after three years we will once again share sevdah at MTS Hall,” says Selma Droce, the band’s vocalist. “This city holds a special place for us – we recorded our first album here, and now, many years later, we return to present our latest studio release, the album Radio Sevdah*. We look forward to meeting the audience and to a concert where, through song, we will share emotion, memories, and what has connected us for years. See you at MTS Hall on May 16!”
Divanhana was founded in Sarajevo in 2009 and, over nearly two decades, has built a distinctive artistic expression grounded in deep respect for musical heritage and a contemporary authorial approach, leading toward an open, evolving, and living musical language of sevdah.
The band has performed at numerous festivals and concert stages across Europe, Canada, and Australia.
The Divanhana concert begins at 8 PM. Tickets are available via the MTS Hall website.
