The DVD release “Pogledaj me kako pevam” (Hear My Song) by Vrelo is a video recording of the concert held in November 2012 at the Cultural Centre in Ruma, featuring outstanding sound and video post-production. This powerful live document authentically captures the band’s stage energy and distinctive artistic identity. In Vrelo’s music, a stripped-down instrumental setup—based on only two instruments (bass and drums, supported by electronic backing tracks)—meets strong female vocals that move between inherited archetypal patterns and contemporary expression. This fusion of traditional folk material and modern sound creates a recognizable, dynamic, and emotionally intense whole, further enhanced by thoughtful choreography and a compelling stage presence. Live performances of songs such as “Morava,” “Povenulo sve,” “San me mori,” “Dodola,” and “Oj ubava” demonstrate the band’s explosive energy and high production standards. Since its founding in 1999, Vrelo has achieved notable success both in Serbia and internationally, including winning second place at the BBC competition “The Next Big Thing” in 2007 with the song “Pošle mome.” With this release, Vrelo reaffirms its position as one of the most original world music projects in the region.
