The album by Bojana and Nebojša Brdarić presents nine traditional songs from Serbia and the wider Balkan region in contemporary arrangements that combine an authentic vocal expression with subtle instrumental and harmonic expansions. With her voice, Bojana Brdarić faithfully preserves the character of traditional singing, while Nebojša Brdarić, known primarily as a frula (traditional flute) player, performs on kaval and Armenian duduk on this album, enriching the ensemble’s sonic palette. The repertoire includes songs from various cultural areas – from Šumadija and southern Serbia to Kosovo and Metohija, Macedonia, and Montenegro. In the arrangements by the Brdarić siblings, with contributions from Bojan Petković and Nenad Gajin, traditional melodic patterns gain a subtly modern expression without compromising their original character.
