The Europe Jazz Network member “A to JazZ Festival” is starting a world music showcase for the first time in its history, expanding the music genres of its music programming.
“A to JazZ Showcase” will be held on an additional festival day on 6th of July, 2023 on two stages – the Main stage and the Night stage at “Toplocentrala” venue. A to JazZ Festival & Showcase is open air and takes place in Sofia (Bulgaria) in the emblematic South Park 2.
The open call for applications is for emerging artists in world music, and the deadline is March 8, 2023.
All young artists, based in the EU and the eligible countries (Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Georgia, Tunisia and Ukraine) can apply. Eight international emerging artists will be selected by international jury.
The festival will provide partially a budget for travel costs and full accommodation for the artists for 3 days in Sofia. “A to JazZ Showcase” expects more than 20 international bookers, festival programmers, music curators and journalists as delegates, as well as a thousands people within festival audience – artists new fans!
The selected musicians will have an opportunity to get feedback from the professionals, to expand their professional network, even to get new bookings for future shows and to participate in the educational training sessions: “How to showcase” and “Go to the international market”.
“A to JazZ Festival” is part of “UPBEAT – the European Showcase Platform for World Music”, funded by the European Union.
