Alice in WonderBand will hold a concert and promote their album “RikaTaka: New Balkan Rhythm”, which was released on November 4 by the reputable German label “CPL-Music”. The event will be organized in Novi Sad, at the “Bulevar Books” bookstore (Bulevar Mihajla Pupina 6), on December 22, starting at 8 p.m.
These are different sounds of the Balkans! On their debut album “RikaTaka: New Balkan Rhythm”, the duo Alice in WonderBand celebrates an unusual and convincing genre mix. Taking the audience on a journey through the Balkans, the duo is not afraid of new sounds. Thus, the acoustic sounds of the body as an instrument are combined with the musical tradition of the Balkans, with folk songs from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Moldova, Greece, Turkey, Kosovo, and even Hungary, awakening curiosity about the rich musical tradition. regions.
The album was ranked seventh on the December list of the prestigious World Music Charts Europe panel.
Alice in WonderBand are Ana Vrbaški (voice, body percussion) and Marko Dinjaški (body percussion, voice, didgeridoo, drums). Their concert performance includes an organic influence of samples, carefully prepared in studio conditions.
Right after the concert, around 9 p.m., ethnomusicologist Marija Vitas (magazine Etnoumlje, Music Information Centre of Serbia), journalist Nikola Glavinić (Radio Novi Sad) and ethnologist Marijan Pavlov will talk about the album and the artists.
